Pallet SKU Specifications
RightChain Pallets SKU Specifications

RightChain Pallets' SKU specifications include REQUIRED INPUTS and OPTIONAL INPUTS. Names, descriptions, data types, and if applicable units of measure are defined below. (Data types include "dimension", "numeric", "boolean", "date", "date/time", and "geographic".)

REQUIRED INPUTS

SKU (dimension)
The unique ID for a SKU expressed in alphanumeric characters. Sometimes referred to as a product ID.
Data Type: dimension

SKU Description
The description (or the name) of the SKU.
Data Type: dimension
Lot Size
The lot size in number of pallets for the SKU. The average quantity in number of pallets received as a lot (at one time). This can be the purchase order quantity, the receipt quantity, or the production quantity. Lot size is a key factor in computing optimal lane depths.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: pallets
Daily Pallets Shipped
The average number of pallets shipped per day for the SKU. The user specifies the period of time for which the average is relevant. Users may choose low, medium, or high activity periods to simulate their impact on the optimal pallet storage and picking solution.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: pallets

Load Length Inches
The pallet length in inches.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: inches

Load Width Inches
The pallet width in inches.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: inches

Load Height Inches
The pallet height in inches.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: inches

Max Stack Height
The maximum stack height for a given pallet in this position measured in number of pallets.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: pallets

OPTIONAL INPUTS

Max Days on Hand
he maximum days on hand for the given SKU as a design parameter. Allows users to simulate the impact of various inventory policies on the warehouse configuration.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: days

Pallets on Hand
he design pallets on hand for slotting. Allows users to simulate the impact of various inventory policies on the warehouse configuration.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: pallets

Mixed Lot
Answers the question as to whether or not the SKU allows multiple lots to be stored together in the same storage location? Default value is "FALSE". Allows the user to simulate the mixing of lots within a storage location.
Data Type: logical: Acceptable Values: "TRUE", "FALSE

Wage Rate
The loaded (included benefits) wage rate in $/man-hour for a typical, full time warehouse employee, preferably a lift truck operator. Includes benefits (e.g. vacation, healthcare, etc.).
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: $ per man-hour

Unit Occupancy Cost
The annual cost of warehouse space in $/square foot at the warehouse. If rented, the unit occupancy cost typically includes rent/lease cost (if rented or leased), utilities, security, housekeeping, and/or insurance. If the building is owned the unit occupancy cost typically includes either the depreciation cost or the prevailing rent/least cost, utilities, security, housekeeping, maintenance, and/or insurance.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: $ per square foot per year

Clear Height
The clear height of the warehouse expressed in feet. Clear height is the distance from the floor to the highest point at which product may be stored without interfering with any warehouse infrastructure near the ceiling including building trusses, beams, sprinkler heads, lights, etc.
Data Type: numeric, Unit of Measure: feet

Excluded Storage Modes
A comma separated list of storage modes to exclude (ignore) when running a SKU through the storage optimization scenarios. Leave blank to ignore. Allows the user to simulate the inclusion/exclusion of various storage modes for various SKUs.
Data Type: dimension
